We present spectroscopic investigations and laser operation of Czochralski-grown Tm3+:YScO3 mixed sesquioxide crystals. Tm3+-doped mixed sesquioxide exhibits a broad and flat gain profile, and their significantly reduced melting temperature enables high-quality crystal growth by the Czochralski method from Iridium crucibles. They are promising candidates as commercially available gain material for 2 µm ultrafast lasers.
