[15p-A305-4] Temperature dependence of Tm fiber laser efficiency

Tm fiber lasers have attracted much attention as high-power 2-µm wavelength light sources, but there are various transition processes that reduce the efficiency of the laser and are highly temperature-dependent. However, compared to Er and Yb fiber lasers, there are very few reports on the temperature dependence of Tm fiber lasers, and to the best of our knowledge, there are no reports on the operation below 0°C. We have therefore developed a Peltier-based temperature tunable Tm fiber laser. Therefore, we have developed a Peltier-based variable-temperature cooling system and measured the temperature dependence of the Tm fiber laser from room temperature to below 0°C.
