[15p-B309-3] Gas Temperature Estimation in Atmospheric-Pressure Glow Discharge Using Mach-Zehnder Interferometer

Keywords:atmospheric-pressure glow discharge, gas temperature measurement

Atmospheric pressure glow discharge is a kind of non-equilibrium plasma under atmospheric pressure, and various types of atmospheric pressure glow discharges can be obtained easily, especially when rare gases are used. In atmospheric pressure glow discharges using DC, radio frequency, or microwaves, the gas temperature rise due to Joule heating cannot be ignored because of their high electron density. In this study, we measured the gas density distribution in DC or pulse-driven atmospheric pressure glow discharges using Mach-Zehnder interferometer to estimate the gas temperature distribution.
