We studied the triplet dynamics of rubrene, which is a frequently used emitter of the triplet-triplet annihilation photon upconversion, by performing the time-resolved upconversion emission measurements of the solutions of various concentrations and the theoretical simulation based on the rate equations. The results showed that the back triplet-triplet energy transfer from emitter to sensitizer cannot be ignored for the high concentration conditions.
