△ [15p-D405-7] Evaluation of the Effect of Perspective Foreground to the Horizon Moon Illusion
Keywords:moon illusion
The purpose of this presentation is to investigate the cause of the moon appearing huge in the horizon, which has not been clarified until now. The cause was investigated by evaluating the influence of the foreground by the size perception of the circle on a model figure drawn in perspective. The experimental results showed that the overestimation ratio was larger for images with a stronger sense of perspective, and the overestimation ratio decreased for images with circles at a higher altitude. From these results, it was concluded that overestimation occurs for low altitude moons with perspective effects.
