Keywords:terahertz wave, photoconductive antenna, surface plasmon

Terahertz waves have potential applications in a variety of fields, including analysis, communications, and security. A femtosecond laser-based photoconductive antenna is used to generate terahertz waves. In order to improve the performance (radiation intensity and detection sensitivity) of the photoconductive antenna, nanostructures to excite surface plasmons were placed between electrodes to efficiently absorb laser light irradiated on the GaAs surface and assist carrier generation near the GaAs surface
