1,4-dioxan (1,4-DXA) is a hardly decomposable organic substance which cause damage to human body such as cancers. So, 1,4-DXA has been a regulation substance of the soil environmental standard (0.05 mg/L) since 2017. To decompose 1,4-DXA, a plasma-gas bubbling reactor has been developed by combining a pulse streamer discharge with a porous ceramic membrane with a thickness of 0.6 mm. 1,4-DXA aqueous solution of 1.7 L with an initial concentration of 1 mg/L was successfully decomposed under 0.05 mg/L 45 min later. In this study, the effect of the increase of a gas-liquid interface due to bubble crush on 1,4-DXA decomposition efficiency was examined.
