[15p-PB05-5] Radiation tolerance of photonic-crystal for ionized air sensor

We aim to use the phenomenon that the light intensity in nanocavities and waveguides is attenuated by free carrier absorption when silicon is charged by free electrons generated on the surface or inside silicon photonic crystals for the development of charged sensors. The sensor to be developed is considered for use in space, where electronic devices are easily charged. In this paper, we report on in situ measurements of the response of a fiber-modular photonic crystal waveguide to gamma-ray irradiation.
