A disadvantage of fluoropolymer electrets is its low charge stability after charging. In previous studies, they have been reported that the charge stabilities were improved by adding oxygen-containing functional groups on their fluoropolymer surfaces. However, there is no report on relationship between the ratio of the oxygen-containing functional groups and charge stability. Therefore, in this study, fluoropolymer (Polytetrafluoroethylene: PTFE) electrets with different ratios of oxygen-containing functional groups were prepared by different plasma treatments, and the relationship between the ratio of oxygen-containing functional groups and charge stability was examined.
