In magnetic heterostructures, an electric current injected into the heavy-metal layer is converted to a perpendicular spin current by the interfacial spin-orbit interaction, which provides torques (the spin-orbit torques) to magnetization in the ferromagnetic layer. We theoretically studied creations and dynamics of magnetic skyrmions with the spin-orbit torques by numerical simulations based on the LLGS equation and the analysis using the Thiele equation.
