We have focused on phase change as a means of controlling the propulsive motion of Janus particles. In this study, Janus particles coated with phase change material GST were in-situ phase changed by a pulsed laser. As a result, we succeeded in changing the characteristics of the propulsive motion significantly under an AC electric field. The particles also propelled even faster when irradiated while propulsion, suggesting that further diversification of motion is possible through partial phase change of the particles.
