Near-infrared spectroscopy, which provides molecular information of the sample noninvasively, has been expected to be applied to the in-line total inspection in food and chemical production lines. Chirped pulse spectroscopy is an incomparable method for ultra-high speed spectroscopy, however, it is still challenging to apply it into actual applications because of some limitations such as a low output power and large footprint. In this work, we developed a high-speed near infrared spectrometer with a high output power by employing an optical waveguide technology (arrayed waveguide grating: AWG) with the chirped pulse spectroscopy. We achieved both a high output power (60 mW) and high measurement rate (1.2 MHz) with the developed spectrometer.
