[16p-A401-10] Molecular Orientation of Multipodal Hole Collecting Materials on Metal Oxide Substrates
Keywords:organic semiconductors, hole collecting materials, self-assembled monolayers
The self-assembled monolayer formed on a transparent conductive oxide electrode has been proposed as a hole collection layer for inverted perovskite solar cells. Although the molecular orientation significantly affects the hole collection efficiency, information about the molecular orientation could not be obtained from the standard techniques because of the roughness of the electrode. This study employed ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS) and metastable atom electron spectroscopy (MAES) to examine the molecular orientation of 3PATAT-C3 on the oxide electrode (ITO and FTO). Particularly, 3PATAT-C3 has three anchor groups to bind with the electrode surface, which should facilitate the face-on orientation. The result confirms the face-on orientation on the substrates.
