Recently data-driven science, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, has been applied to plasma science and the development of data-driven science based on specific knowledge of plasma science (i.e. physics-informed AI for plasma science) has attracted much attention in the community. In this presentation, as an introduction to this Symposium, the outline of such research activities will be presented.
