We theoretically report the optical non-Hermitian skin effect in a semiconductor photonic crystal slab. Due to the material loss and mirror symmetry breaking of the unit cell, the system with the periodic boundary conditions has a point gap in a slice of its complex band structure. Correspondingly, that for a ribbon geometry with an open boundary condition in one direction exhibits skin modes localized at an edge.
