Half-flux quantum circuits (HFQ circuits) use a π junction with a large critical current value as an unswitchable phase shifter and a 0-0-π SQUID as a switch element. The 0-0-π SQUID's apparent critical current value is lowered by the rightward or leftward circulating current that is spontaneously generated inside the 0-0-π SQUID depending on the quantization conditions. This allows for ultra-low power operation approaching thermal noise. In this study, the effect of 0-0-π SQUID asymmetry on HFQ circuits is investigated by simulating HFQ-JTL.
