RE247 and RE124, which are analogues of RE123, have Cu-O double chain layer without oxygen non-stoichiometry. Our recent studies have revealed that stacking faults corresponding to the double CuO chains can be introduced in Y123 thin films through oxygen annealing including water vapor and their concentration can be systematically controlled as a function of a partial pressure of water vapor, temperature and duration time. On the other hand, previous studies have revealed that Silver coating prior to annealing was found to be an effective method to introduce stacking faults to Y123 films. In this study, we systematically investigated that the relationship between Silver
thickness, annealing temperature and the amount of stacking faults.
