[16p-D221-2] Annealing effects on superconducting properties of as-grown MgB2 thin films

MgB2 thin films were prepared on Si substrates using an EB evaporation method, and post-annealed at 600, 650, 700, and 750°C for 1 second. As the Tc of the as-grown thin film was 34.4 K, those of the samples post-annealed at 600, 650, 700 and 750 °C for 1 s were 35.5, 35.9, 35.7 and 35.9 K, respectively. Post-annealing for only 1 second improved the Tc by 1.1-1.5 K. Even very short time post-annealing like 1 second was found to be effective for improving superconducting properties of as-grown MgB2 thin films.
