[16p-D221-5] Fabrication of Bi-2223 Superconducting Joint by Hot-Pressing Process

We have developed superconducting joints between multifilamentary (Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3Oy [Bi-2223] tapes. At the last meeting of this conference, we quantitatively showed that the critical current of the joints increased by densification of a polycrystalline Bi-2223 intermediate layer. We report the Bi-2223 superconducting joints fabricated by the hot-pressing process, which enables to synthesize a dense intermediate layer by short heat treatment.
