Keywords:synthesis process, charge carrier mobility, thermoelectric conversion

In this work, we prepared samples of skutterudite-type sulfide Co2Ge3S3 by changing shape of starting material Ge and annealing temperature and investigated their thermoelectric properties. The electrical conductivity of the sample using bulk shape Ge as starting material was two orders of magnitude higher than that of the sample using powder shape Ge. This change was caused by the difference in charge carrier mobility. On the other hand, the Seebeck coefficient did not change significantly by the shape of Ge as starting material. As a result, the sample using bulk shape Ge as starting material had the largest power factor of 1.25 mW/(K2m).
