▼ [16p-D704-9] Change of the band structure in a freestanding La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 thin film
Keywords:freestanding, strongly correlated system, SAO
Freestanding La1-xSrxMnO3 (LSMO) thin films have attracted much attention for spintronics applications due to their bulk half-metallic nature. However, no systematic data of the magnetic properties of these films have been available until now. In this presentation, we evaluate the quality of an epitaxially grown freestanding LSMO thin film and show the change of the band structure by comparing its magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectrum with strained LSMO thin films epitaxially grown on two typically used substrates. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) scans and the MCD spectrum indicate that the freestanding LSMO film is relaxed and ferromagnetic. The MCD peak positions vary by substrates, meaning that the band structure of LSMO is changed. The peak shifts to the lower energies with decreasing strains are possibly due to decreasing distorsion of electron orbitals in the LSMO thin films. These findings contribute to the realization of strongly correlated spintronics devices.
