[16p-PB03-20] Comparison of analytic solutions of liquid penetration in rectangular microchannels

Fluid dynamics in circular microfluidic channels has been widely analyzed using the Lucas-Washburn-Rideal equation. On the other hand, rectangular channels are often used in actual microfluidic devices, and their exact solutions have complex points and are generally evaluated approximately. The analysis can be facilitated by replacing the pressure drop calculation for a rectangular channel with a pressure drop term for a circular channel with a corresponding hydraulic diameter. Therefore, sample flow experiments of rectangular microchannels were conducted and compared with the hydraulic diameter solution and the exact solution.
