A Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) is an optical fiber device that has periodic diffraction gratings inside its fiber core. The grating interval is changed, when a strain is applied to the FBG, or environmental temperature changes. The interval change results in a shift of a center wavelength of the FBG reflection. Thus, the device can be used as temperature and/or strain sensor heads. One of methods to measure the wavelength shift is dual-wavelength differential detection technique. In this presentation, we report FBG sensing based on Time-and Wavelength-Division Multiplexed Dual-wavelength differential detection using a DFB laser.
