[17a-A404-1] Plant research using scintillators
Keywords:scintillator, plant, imaging
Plants absorb inorganic substances through their roots and leaves and transport them to the required areas within the plant as it grows. The use of radioactive tracers to study the transportation of these substances in the plant allows for non-invasive, sequentially acquired imaging. I will present examples of techniques for imaging ion dynamics in plants, introduce the scintillator employed, and discuss the characteristics of the scintillator that will be required in future plant research.
