In the present study, we report the fabrication of Ir doped LSMO thin films on single crystal SrTiO3 and LSAT substrates using pulsed laser deposition technique. Ir doped LSMO target for the PLD experiment was prepared by mixing the required chemical powders in appropriate proportions and sintering at temperatures between 1000 – 1100. The oriented growth of the LSMO films can be obtained on the single crystal substrates. Further, the resistivity of the thin film samples was measured as a function of temperature in which signatures of metal-insulator transition could be observed. However, the zero resistance in these Ir doped LSMO thin films could be obtained so far. Possible reasons for presence and/or absence of superconductivity in this system will be discussed.
