Photonic crystal lasers (PCSELs) enable both high-power operation and high-quality beam, and are expected for laser processing, sensing etc. In the development from now on, the flexibility of design satisfying individual specifications becomes important. For example, in a certain optical system, linear polarization of the beam is desirable. Thus, based on optimization by quantum annealing, we realized the beam with high polarization degree by optimization of the lattice-point shape and introduction of Gaussian current-density distribution.
