[17a-PA03-8] Giant Seebeck Effect in Flexible Organic Single Crystals

With the spread of IoT devices, development of power-saving sensors as a medium for connecting objects and information is advancing. The need for an isolated power source to operate them is increasing. Thermoelectric conversion, which uses low-energy density heat emitted from utilize low-energy density heat emitted from the human body and electronic equipment, is attracting attention. Our previous studies have found enormous Seebeck coefficients exceeding 10mV/K in thin films and single crystals of organic low-molecular semiconductors. Materials that have been confirmed to exhibit the giant Seebeck effect generally have the disadvantage of being brittle. If a material with flexibility exhibits the giant Seebeck effect, it can be easily applied to flexible devices. In this study, we compared the thermoelectric properties of flexible organic materials and considered the giant Seebeck effect in flexible organic materials.
