[17p-A201-1] Fast and Reliable Spatial Coherence Measurement Using a Nonredundant Array of Slits and Temporal Light Modulation

Keywords:spatial coherence measurement, digital micromirror device (DMD), nonredundant array

We proposed previously a method of measuring the spatial coherence of light by means of temporal modulation of a double slit displayed on a digital micromirror device (DMD). In this study, we replace the double slit by a nonredundant array of slits and demonstrate experimentally that a single measurement determines the spatial coherence for 15 different slit separations accurately, even though background light is unavoidable, under the condition that the nonredundant array consisting of six slits is illuminated evenly. These results clearly show that fast and highly reliable spatial coherence measurement is achievable with the proposed method without any difficulties.
