In this research, we fabricated a hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) metasurface functioning as a beam deflector and a quarter-wave plate (QWP) that is able to apply in reflection-type vapor cell of chip scale atomic clock. As a result, it satisfactorily performed both as a deflector and QWP with an accurate deflection angle, high transmittance, and 91% degree of circular polarization (DOCP) is circularly convertible from incident linear polarization. However, the deflection efficiency was still around 51% considerably better than the conventional diffraction grating, although there are still rooms to improve.
