[17p-A501-9] Observation of superfluorescence using sum frequency generation
Keywords:superfluorescence, nonlinear optical process
Superfluorescence (SF) is a quantum many-body phenomenon in which coherent optical pulses are emitted from an ensemble of particles which are correlated with each other via a spontaneous emission process. Recently, nonlinear optical processes induced by SF have been reported. Since the theory of SF in multi-level systems has not yet been developed, it is expected to develop the theory and to explore novel radiation phenomena. By applying sum frequency generation spectroscopy, we have observed all radiation fields of the nonlinear optical process induced by SF in Rb atoms.
