Ph-BTBT-Cn exhibits excellent performances for organic thin-film transistors, and the performances are greatly influenced by the molecular packing in thin films. In this work, the effect of aging on the film structure of Ph-BTBT-Cn is investigated by a combination technique of X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy. The results show that the film-specific structure (the thin-film phase) is converted to the single crystal structure by aging at room temperature. In addition, the conformational change of the alkyl chain during the structural conversion process is discussed.
