The chronology of the vision for the future of ionizing radiation science and engineering published in March 2008 will be reviewed mainly based on some presentations in the JSAP annual technical meetings etc., to see how well the predictions made at that time have been fulfilled 15 years later. The direction of research and development that the ionizing radiation science and engineering should aim for until around 2060 will also be discussed.
