△ [17p-D511-14] Attenuations of sub-terahertz coherent acoustic phonons in thin silicon membranes measured by femtosecond spectroscopy at variable temperatures
Keywords:Coherent acoustic phonons, semiconductor
Observation of the phonon propagations is crucial for the study of the heat transport process. However, such observations were commonly performed at low temperature or room temperature. Phonon propagations at higher temperature has been little measured owing to the reduced signal-to-noise ratio. We have measured the acoustic attenuation of longitudinal coherent acoustic phonons (LCAPs) by pump-probe spectroscopy in micro-scale suspended silicon film samples under three different temperature conditions (300, 350, and 400 K). We report on the temperature dependence of acoustic attenuation in single crystalline silicon thin films obtained in this study.
