We prepared single crystals of three halogen-functionalized triptycene derivatives, which provide an isomorphous structure. In these crystals, the triptycene moieties assemble to form 2D layers, which are regularly connected one-dimensionally through halogen contacts. To investigate the relationship between halogen contacts and thermal transport properties, we measured thermal diffusivity, specific heat, density, and thermal conductivity of each single crystal. We found that one of the derivatives having the same halogen species show the highest thermal conductivity along the direction of halogen contacts. In this presentation, we will detail the correlation between structure and thermal conductivity in these organic crystals.
