Carrier transport properties in organic semiconductor polycrystalline thin films involve multiple processes in series or in parallel. In this talk, I will review the results of our studies on transport bottlenecks due to local structures, band edge potential profiles, and trap levels near the semiconductor/gate insulator interface in pentacene thin films by our original characterization techniques. This could be a case study of how the device-scale carrier transport properties are determined in inhomogeneous semiconductors.
