[17p-PA08-5] Analysis of Surface Electronic States of Hematite Particles in Aqueous Solution using Photoemission Yield Spectroscopy in Air.
Keywords:photoemission spectroscopy, Fe2O3, photocatalyst
Surface electronic states, especially energy levels of the valence band maximum and the conduction band minimum, are important factors for improvement of the photocatalytic activity of semiconductor photocatalysts. The energy levels of surface electronic states in water are influenced by charge of surface functional groups and adsorbates at the semiconductor-water interface. In this study, photoemission yield spectroscopy in air was used for analysis of the surface electronic states of hematite particles dispersed in aqueous solution.
