[18a-A305-5] Nonlinear Photoluminescence Properties of Gold Nanoplates Studied by Azimuthally and Radially Polarized Light Excitation

Plasmon resonances excited in noble metal nanostructures confine electromagnetic field in the vicinity of the nanostructures. The nanostructures show strong nonlinear photoluminescence compared with bulk structures due to the confined electromagnetic field. Excitation probability of a plasmon mode in the nanostructure strongly depends on the spatial properties of excitation light. Therefore, the nonlinear photoluminescence properties should depend on spatial properties of excitation light. Azimuthal and radial polarizations are representative polarizations with axial symmetry. In this research, we examine nonlinear photoluminescence properties of gold nanoplates excited by azimuthally and radially polarized light. We revealed that the spatial distributions of the nonlinear photoluminescence strongly depend on the excitation polarizations.
