Avoiding conflict of choice to maximize the reward in the competitive bandit problem is an important issue for achieving efficient learning in artificial intelligence (AI). In this study, we experimentally constructed a semiconductor laser network in which two types of synchronization phenomena, delayed chaos synchronization and zero delay synchronization, coexist, and demonstrated cooperative decision making for a basic two-player, two-choice situation. This is the world's first empirical study applying laser networks to conflict avoidance in AI.
