[Japanese session] Interplay between theoretical physics and cell biology

Wed. Jun 29, 2022 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM Venue C (Fukuju)

Organizer: Yasushi Okada (The University of Tokyo, RIKEN)

Recently, technological advancement enabled more precise and quantitative measurement of the biological phenomena, and the needs for the quantitative analyses and modeling are increasing. Meanwhile, theoretical physics also progressed significantly. Advancement in statistical physics, many-body physics, and related theories would potentially contribute to the understanding of biological phenomena. Now it would be the time to review biology from a new perspective of physics. Intracellular liquid-liquid phase separation would be a good example. This symposium will feature researchers who are active in the new boundary area between physics and cell biology.

opening remarks (9:30 AM - 9:35 AM)
