[CS2-14] PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF DIFFERENT WAVE FORECASTING MODELS FOR DETECTING
CRITICAL EVENTS IN MARINE CONSTRUCTION SITES ALONG JAPAN COASTS
Keywords:Wave Forecasting Model, Wave Watch III, Site Safety, Performance Verification, Marine Sites
Accurate forecasting of the wave conditions is critical for the marine construction sites in order to ensure safety, to access workability conditions, to reduce the production costs and resources. In this paper, forecasting results of WAM(Wu), WAM(Janssen) and WAVEWATCHIII models are compared with observational data by standard verification methods and the performance is assessed by inter-comparing models. Regions along Japan Coasts are divided into four regions namely East Pacific Ocean, West Pacific Ocean, East Sea of Japan and West Sea of Japan and the performance results for each region are summarized in this paper.
