[CS2-22] Electrochemical study on the passive cathodic protection for steel bridge using Al-Zn based sacrificial anode
Keywords:Corrosion, Electrochemical test, Steel bridge, Cathodic protection, Sacrificial anode alloy
For protecting the components of steel bridges from aggressive environment, a new cathodic protection technique using Al-Zn based sacrificial anode was developed. In this study, the electrochemical properties of sacrificial anode alloy Al-3Zn (wt%) were discussed by comparing the anti-corrosion characteristics in different concentration of electrolyte solutions. Besides, the activity of anode alloy and effectiveness of the passive cathodic protection system were demonstrated through spontaneous potential, polarization curves and galvanic coupling current of the samples.
