[CS9-48] Monitoring of displacement and crack opening displacement of RC beam bridge by using video image analysis

This paper describes an experimental study on video image-based monitoring technology to acquire dynamic behavior of a RC beam bridge. In the experiment, we use a monitoring system called "an Optical Vibration Analysis System". The system analyses video images of lower side of the bridge beam recorded by a video camera put on the ground, and then calculates the time histories of the in-plane and out-of-plane displacement of the images to acquire the dynamic behavior. The experimental results show the system is capable of measuring three-dimensional displacement and also a crack opening displacement synchronized with the deflection from in-plane displacement distribution.
