For the calculation of axial force in thickness-reduced plate repaired by patch plates with high-strength bolts, the equation to estimate axial force is proposed. In this paper, the axial force in the thickness-reduce plate repaired by the patch plates with high-strength bolts was estimated by the simple equation. Several thickness-reduced patterns were analyzed by the FEM. By the comparison of FE result and equation values, it is revealed that the axial force in the thickness-reduced plate repaired by patch plates with high-strength bolts was able to calculate by the simple equation within 5% error of FE results.
