[I-160] A study on improvement in redundancy of long span truss bridges
Keywords:Redundancy, Long Span Truss Bridge, Reinforcement Measure, Remote Island Bridge, Loading Test
Redundancy has attracted attention since the accident of I-35W bridge in 2007. In previous studies, problems of redundancy in long span truss bridges were shown, but no concrete reinforcement measures have been considered. In this study, the examination of reinforcement measures aiming at improvement in redundancy of long span truss bridges is carried out. The reinforcement measure was planed by analysis, and the reinforcement effect was confirmed by loading test. As a result, the reinforcement measure of reverse diagonal member was devised. In addition, safety and load-carrying capacity performance of reinforced structure in the case of upper chord damage and vertical damage were confirmed.
