In the current evaluation method of seismic performance for the road bridge abutments, the effect of earth pressure from the liquefied layer has not been taken into consideration yet. Therefore, to rationally evaluate the seismic performance and retrofitting effect of the existing abutments, it is necessary to consider the earth pressure due to soil liquefaction. In part 1, the liquefaction strength curve of the model ground was identified to provide a basic study for the modeling of the earth pressure of pile foundation.
