[I-231] Propose of Retrofitting Method for Existing Pile Foundations and its Verification Simulation

Old pile foundations, which do not satisfy the current standards, are always retrofitted by the additional piles to increase their shear capacity. However, the retrofit design method has not been established yet. Therefore, for a retrofitting method, it is necessary to appropriately evaluate its retrofitting effect and establish retrofit design method. This study develops a new retrofitting method with surface contact structure, which can be expected to have excellent workability. The simulation results show that this new retrofit method has almost the same retrofitting effect as the general method.
