[I-265] CONSECUTIVE IMPACT LOADING TEST OF RC BEAMS STRENGTHENED WITH AFRP SHEET
Keywords:FRP sheet, flexural strengthening, consecutive impact loading, RC beams, sheet debonding
In order to establish a rational reinforcing method of impact-resistant capacity for reinforced concrete (RC) beams, a successive falling-weight impact loading test of the flexural strengthened RC beams with an aramid fiber reinforced polymer (AFRP) sheet was conducted. In this paper, the AFRP sheet having a mass of 1660 g/m2 were bonded to the tension-side surface of the beams. From this study, the results obtained were as follows: 1) maximum and residual deflections of the beams considerably decreased by bonding AFRP sheet to the beam bottom tension-side surface; and 2) absolute maximum and absolute residual deflections increased linearly with accumulated input impact energy.
