[I-328] Effect of sedimentation on seismic stress generated in dam and abutment of arch dam during empty time

3-D dynamic analysis was carried out to examine influence of sedimentation on the seismic stress generated in the arch dam. From the viewpoint of seismic performance evaluation, empty condition is more severe than full condition. So, we examined the influence of sedimentation on the case where the reservoir is empty. As a result, due to the interaction among sedimentation and dam body and foundation rock, the tensile stress during earthquake decreased at some positions but increased at a certain position. When the tensile stress increases, the impact on the seismic safety is large, so it is necessary to check the seismic performance with high accuracy.
