[I-443] Effects of preheating temperature on diffusible hydrogen content and weld metal hardness under high humidity environment
Keywords:welding, preheating temperature, diffusible hydrogen, welding crack, Vickers hardness
In order to verify the suppression effect of low temperature crack by preheating in welding under high humidity environment, welding experiment was conducted in the high humidity condition. As a result, even when the preheating temperature was elevated, no decrease in the amount of diffusible hydrogen was observed and no weld cracking occurred, but the Vickers hardness of the weld metal portion decreased with the increase in the preheating temperature. From the viewpoint of securing the toughness of the welded joint, the effectiveness of high temperature preheating was confirmed.
