[I-45] Shaking table test and numerical simulation considering with the bolted joint slip using sectional model of full scale tower
Keywords:Transmission tower, Bolted joint slip, Shaking table test
In this report, the shaking table test using the sectional model of the full scale tower was performed in order to evaluate the effect of slip at the bolted joints on the response of whole structure. The result shows the damping increases and the axial force and the acceleration response decreased by the slip. In addition, the numerical model taking the slip effect into consideration based on FEM was developed. The element containing the bolted joint divides into two elements: one is truss element applied the constitutive law of the slip, another one is beam element whose axial stiffness is negligible small not to transfer axial force. This proposed model was validated by simulating the shaking table tests.
